Who should foster?
Fosters are people who love dogs, love interacting with them and understand that they are literally helping to save the dog's life.
How do I become a foster?
Fill out the foster application.
How much will it cost me to foster?
Nothing. LOL will supply you with everything you need, a crate, leash, collar, even food if you need it.
How long do I have to keep the foster dog?
We ask for a three week commitment as most dogs are adopted in two to three weeks. In the case of foster a mama with her litter, we ask for a commitment until the pups are at least six weeks, ideally eight.
Are the dogs housebroken?
Young puppies definitely aren't. In the case of older puppies and dogs, we simply have no way to know while they are in the shelter. Sadly they have no choice but to relieve themselves in their pen.
What are my duties as a foster?
Fosters need to provide a safe, clean environment, fresh water and food, meds and vet visits if needed. Finally and most importantly, fosters need to provide love and affection.
What if my foster dog gets sick?
You would contact Annemarie. Direct contact information is given to all fosters.
I've fostered before but wasn't happy with the organization. Should I try again?
Absolutely! Every group can have their personal problems, we strive to do what we feel is best for the dogs. After all that is why we do what we do!
